We all have to start our hobbies somewhere. Maybe this is you! Perhaps you are new to record players and experiencing everything vinyl has to offer? Or maybe you have a tight budget that you cannot spend over. To help guide your purchase, I have reviewed what I believe is the best record player under 100 dollars.

Intuitive Design for Beginners

Not only is the Audio Technica AT-LP60 currently my pick for the best record player under 100, but it is also my choice for the best record player for beginners. It is fully automatic (which means it will find the beginning of the album) and there aren’t any complicated settings that you need to learn all at once. Keep in mind, if you want to place the needle somewhere manually, you still can as well.

On more expensive models you can make more complicated adjustments such as pitch, tracking force, etc. But, in my opinion, though, this makes things way too complicated if you want just want to listen to some vinyl. If you are more experienced, or an audiophile, then this product probably won’t suit your needs. However, you will also need a bigger budget and have a larger learning curve.

The one drawback to this model is that it doesn’t have built-in speakers, so you will have to use powered speakers you already own. If you don’t already have speakers or looking for a great combination to get started, my current recommendation for the price is the [aawp link=”B016P9HJIA” title=”Edifier R1280T” link_title=”Edifier R1280T” /]. You really cannot beat it.

These speakers look and sound great. I think that they go perfectly with this unit! You will not be disappointed in owning this setup.

This Unit is Very Quiet

When looking at record players under 100, often they put out extra noises. Often you will hear little hums or other additional audio anomalies in addition to the music that you are supposed to be enjoying. What surprised me about this unit is that there is none of that. It’s obvious that this is due to the high build quality (and most likely good quality control at the factory). While this point may seem minor, extra noises can take away from the entire experience and make you regret your decision.

Replaceable Stylus and Removable Dust Cover

A nice feature of this record player is that it ships with an excellent stylus from the factory (Audio Technica ATN3600L) which is user replaceable. The manual recommends replacement as needed, or, after 400 hours of use. I like the fact that the dust cover easily comes on and off. To me, it is more visually appealing while I am listening to some classical jazz on a low volume during dinner with some loved ones. And then when we are all finished up and ready to move on with our evening, the dust cover pops back on without any fussing around.

Conclusion of the Best Record Player Under 100

In summary, the Audio Technica is the best record player under 100 for the following reasons.

• Automatic
• Design and ease of use
• Quiet operation
• Replaceable stylus and removable dust cover

It may not be the right product for you if:

• Do not have, or want, to purchase powered speakers
• Need to play 78 RPM records
• Want Bluetooth output.
